Track my Path
(Augmented Reality version)
Scheda AR Map (versione a pagamento)

Track my Path
(Augmented Reality version)
Why use an app whose function is to save the path you are doing? Maybe because you are on holiday in the mountains or you are participating in a Safari and along with the photos of the trip you might like to keep even the trace of the itinerary in which you have ventured. Or you are a fan of jogging or marathons and you want to share or simply store, for your memory, the track of the route in which you have tried, with an indication of the average speed, the time taken and of course km. Or you are a sales agent who spend most of the day in the car and it might be useful to remember the route you have traveled, to graphically mark the place where the best customers work or why you want to justify your request in front of your boss reimbursement of mileage expenses that you have just submitted :-)? In short, in these situations and in all those where you want to save your route on the map (if only for fun), Track my Path can be for you.
Main tab
In this screen, the route tracert is started and stopped using the Start / Stop button. When the tracking is started, the route information is shown; the screen is divided into 2 parts:
Caution:
the journey you are traveling is recorded using the GPS accuracy, which as you know is not always optimal in all circumstances.
Here to correct small errors in detection and in order to align the route as originally mapped by GPS to the roads actually existing, immediately after saving the path is carried out an online search of the real tracks and through these is created a new path to realign yours. Your path will still be visible on the map in a transparency way with respect to the realigned path. (*)
(*) Feature available in the paid version
Map tab
This app uses the native maps kit of your iPhone. The maps are first updated from the internet for which an active connection is required.
All of you are already used to using the maps and you already know how to change position, increase / decrease the magnification or simply change the map style by switching between a 3D / hybrid / satellite map view.
Some of these functions are activated by hidden buttons that will appear with a long press of a few seconds of the finger on the map; these are some features such as:
Path tab
Contains the database of all saved routes. For each route we will have:
By dragging the finger from right to left on the name the path can be deleted.
AR Map tab (paid version)
This is the real news of this version. Visualize the route layout not only on a 2D map as it was possible in the previous version but also exploiting the potential of the Augmented Reality. Both the paths being created and those saved and loaded will be provided a representation of the same through 3D tracks. This function requires not only a suitable device but also suitable lighting conditions otherwise the path will be inaccurate.
Caution:
The augmented reality is still being perfected by Apple so to mitigate the possible misalignments due to unexpected changes of slope or gps detection errors, the route is constantly monitored and where the conditions allow it will be if necessary from time to time repositionedAttention: From the prolonged use of the gps it derives a greater consumption of the battery

- Map: scelta dello stile mappa

In this screen, the route tracert is started and stopped using the Start / Stop button. When the tracking is started, the route information is shown; the screen is divided into 2 parts:
- the first one named "Location" is relative to the information on the instantaneous position: latitude, longitude, altitude, travel speed and degree of approximation of the position in meters
- the second one named "Path" concerns the entire route: distance in km, average speed and travel time.
Caution:
the journey you are traveling is recorded using the GPS accuracy, which as you know is not always optimal in all circumstances.

- Map: choice of the map style
- follow / do not follow: enable / disable the centering of the map on the user position, useful function in all the cases in which you want to scroll the map to give you a look around
- reset: cleaning of the displayed route
- GPS error +/-: allows to increase / decrease the tolerance (expressed in meters) for detection errors. Increasing it will also be considered acceptable positions distant up to N meters from the real position. By decreasing it, the same positions will be discarded and replaced by a hatch in the map. This function is useful in all cases where you are in areas with poor GPS signal but you want to detect an approximate position.
- GPS delay +/-: connected to the previous function allows to increase / decrease the interval (expressed in seconds) between GPS detections. Once the period has elapsed without acceptable detection, a signal absence alert will be displayed.
Path tab
Contains the database of all saved routes. For each route we will have:
